Providing an inspiring environment for artists to expand their practice and ideas.

Built on the bank of the River Lea canal, this iconic location on Fish Island faces the Olympic Park and will provide not only work spaces for contemporary artists as well as exhibition spaces for the artists and curators alike. A completely philanthropic project, the space is entirely focused on nurturing and supporting individual and collective artists in the East London and surrounding art community.

Working to support artists in their creative process to fulfil their artistic potential, Anderson Studios and Gallery will be selecting from online applications and portfolio submissions annually to support a limited selection of artists for their Fish Island residency. Here at Anderson Contemporary we also aim to support independent curators and mobile galleries to provide exhibition spaces for them to debut art shows.

Built by the visionary Anderson Foundation, Anderson Contemporary provides clean light, spacious studios to work in with aims to develop a mentorship programme and access to new artists networks to collaborate and expand with.
